we get along with pd too, granted a couple of officers are firefighters and a sergeant is one of the chiefs just goes to show dogs and cats can live together.

during a specificly busy evening in the Bronx back in the early 80's with companies going in various directions in the boro to working fires and greateralarms, The Chief of the 6th division made himself available on the radio when yet another Box was being dispatched..with all the radio traffic he was having some problems getting the particulars and after about the 6th time asking for them, The seasoned Dispatcher without skipping a beat again states "Telephone alarm" for box "1234" the address 3456 Grand Concourse between E172 and E173 for a report of an apartment fire reported as apartment 4 "C ".... Bronx to division 6? division 6 to the bronx, was that apartment 4 C , 4D, 4 E ??? ................ Bronx to division 6 3456 Gand Concourse E172 and 173 Reported to be apartment FOURSEE .... as In "Bread CRUMBS" .... It was hilarious I blew my beer through my nose ... BUT The chief got the point ..... 4C is a brandname for breadcrumbs parmesan cheese definately found in the northeast if not in other parts of the country ...:)
