Fire member daughter diagnosed with terminal cancer :(

I have just recently found out a member of our sister hall's (alberta beach hall, D2) young daughter has been diagnosed with terminal brain/spinal cord cancer. They were going to take her for a last trip to Disneyworld in the spring. Unfortunately the docs at stollery childrens hospital say she does not have till spring..............

so D2 hall is running a bottle drive and seeking donations to help this family (our family!) to take their daughter on a trip (her wish) before its too late. D1 (my hall) is looking to help raise money too. bottle drive seems like a lot of work for very little reward... Does anyone have an suggestions?? As its personal there is not a lot we can do i dont think. This money has to be raised fast as she is fading quickly. ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD HELP................

The best known organization is Make A Wish Foundation at http://www.wish.org/ There's another called Dream Come True. We'll hope for a miracle.

My vollie dept. just raised abour 4K with a BBQ, fundraising feeds usually do well since everyone loves to eat.
Raffles usually do really well and don't require a lot of time to set up or any work by the members.
