THE 60-SECOND EMT-Rapid BLS/ALS Assessment, Diagnosis & Triage
I'm reading the book by that title now and was wondering if anyone else had...I saw it in our library at hq and I had to blow some dust off it. The edition i have is from 1996 and I did not see a newer one online, Anyway, despite some of the techniques/protocal obviously having changed, all in all I find it to be a really good book full of tips to help you determine what is wrong with your patient. Which to me is often the hardest part of our job.

try Blink, by Malcolm Gladwell... not EMTish... but it is about people making decisions in the blink of an eye

(and sleeping... have you noticed this particular website if full of people who work long hours and never sleep - why should I be any different ?) (oh yeah, in real life I take a lot of naps... and just completed 8 hours of sleep... but my kitty woke me up, before my alarm, which compelled me to come check on you... but now that I know you are sufficiently getting into mischief without me... I feel much better and can go back to bed... for another 10 minutes of sleep before I have to get up for work... thanks for worrying about me... I missed you too...)

I don't enjoy reading - do it out of necessity. Too many other things I enjoy doing. Anyway, I read the 60-Second EMT years ago. I recall it was very good. Now that you've mentioned it, I'll drag it out and review it.

BUT I did start with me serious comment... and I have been enouraging those below to hear said book (we were just planning snacks)
