When I started out years ago,we still had a couple of demand model MSA packs. We had Survivair Sigmas for the past 14 years and just upgraded last week to Sperian Warriors.Just curious as to who uses what brands and likes and dislikes of any of them.
Our Dept uses the Dragger SCBAs, and we all like them. Only complaints is all the batteries they need replacing offten, but other wise to us are a good choice. We used to use the old Scotts, surviveair and still have a couple on one engine as back up.
I am on two departments so I have the oppertunity to use two different types of air packs. At Scottsburg we use the Scott NXG2 it is a great pack. At Johnson we use the MSA and it is also a good pack. The only problem with that pack is the way that u put the resperator on the mask and with a little guide down the nose of the mask. Its hard to get it on. If i had to pick one it would be the Scott. It is a much better pack.
At the city department we use Drager air packs, and I don't really like them at all, but at my Volunteer station we use MSA packs and that is the best pack ever made hands down.
I've used them all, survivair, Msa, Scott all of them are good. just as long as your still breathing when you get done with them that what matters! it,s personally up to you which one you like
Drager PSS 7000, the new series, with quick disconnect/hot bottle change. 45 min carbon fiber bottles. Awesome new panoramic masks, way beyond the old PSS 100 series. They have done a lot of improvements. I have used MSA, Scott 2.2, Scott 4.5, and Interspiro. Drager is top of the line!
