Pros and Cons, Explorer Post.
Im Currenly doing a survey on the pros, and cons of an Explorer post for my department. Currently we have a Jr program that starts up at the atge of 16, and we like but want to make it better to allow younger people atleast 14 to join. So we have an idea of creating an explorer post. I would just want your opinons on the explorer post on how its operated and run. Or this other idea to keep the jrs but changing the by-laws to accept 14 yr olds.

Corrections have been made.....try to use such techniques with your writing in the future.
The issue isn't just about you, but many kids like you who think they should be entitled something. For example you think because you hold the rank of jr chief that that should mean something here. It doesn't. You then state you know more than half the people of your dept, should that impress or awe us? As Derek mentioned, it doesn't speak too highly of your dept.
As for your spelling and grammar it does absolutely matter. You were probably not taken seriously because your posts come off as a second grader wrote it, not a HS kid. If you wrote like that on a fire or EMS report, do you think that would reflect upon you and your dept? (it absolutely would). Then think if such a report we to be used in litigation and a lawyer is questioning you, do you think he would believe you know more than others on the dept? Do you think he would just think you need a little help with spelling and grammar?
This is some sincere advice here, first off calm down and THINK out what you are going to type. Then type what you want to in something like Microsoft Word or other similar program that will automatically spell check and help you with grammar. Then you can copy and paste that remark into your response. The only way you are going to get better is if you try.

I'm an Explorer leader in my department and also a past Chief. One of the big problems firefighters have is being critical of their brothers and sisters in the fire service. The Explorers are part of the fire service - belittling the kids has no value.
Within our Post we have a rule that the kids must maintain a passing grade. The school gives us the kids' grades every quarter. If they are having a problem keeping their grades up, then they're suspended until the next quarter.
