When trying to attack someone for being ignorant, it helps to have all your ducks in a row first.
Besides, your post was wide open for such remarks you received. It was incredibly vague, has no substance, and there is no idea to what you really are getting at. The post appears to be made from someone too high from smoking some wacky weed or something and actually decided to post it on the net. What did you think was going to happen? So because another person insults your post for lack of info, you get your panties in a bunch? Here is some helpful advice for someone not even on the job, look at the profiles of some of these people, the "dumbest person of the year" you just referred to happens to be a chief officer, not too very far away from NJ.
An apology may be in order and perhaps some common sense. Ron didn't personally attack you, he commented on the lack of substance in your post.

Nathan? Have a look in a mirror, then blush. Your original question (I use the term loosely) gave readers nothihng to go on, no idea of what you were really after or why. You then thanked people for posting a line of tongue in cheek answers. What's the saying - You just don't get it do you? You definitely don't.
As has been said, look at a person's profile before addressing them. No doubt there are some people who lie on their profile, but you won't know that will you?
A little hint for you. Please pay more attention at school, don't worry too much about the fire service. You aren't a firefighter remember, you're a student who happens to be a junior at a FD.

School essay? You had a number of nonsense responses, one of which you insulted the poster, the others were mostly joking and you think that they are going to be "really good" for your essay? I'd love to see that 'finished essay', how bout posting it here?
Must be one of them one-room school houses I bet. With the school marm.

A little 'search' of this young fellows "posts" do show he likely wants to learn. He has asked sincere questions of members on this forum, seeming to seek out their expertise on several aspects of the "Service". Many of you responded with genuine answers to his awkwardly worded posts. Lets not forget we were all newbies at one time, some of us farther back than we care to remember, and asked "dumb" questions. Someone said there aren't any dumb questions if one is attempting to become more educated. Not always true but I think it would be better to help educate this cadet and lighten up on a kid who is perusing this forum instead of hanging out with a bunch of pill poppers and pot smokers.
