Firefighter death

A volunteer firefighter died Lourosa charred in a fire this afternoon in
Monte Meda, Lomba neighborhood, municipality of Gondomar, with the
flames also caused one serious injury and the evacuation of four others,
told Lusa the commander of the corporation.

INEM source said received at 15:42 there would be an indication that
firefighters surrounded by flames in a fire in the village of Lomba,

Apart from one fatal victim, a woman of Volunteer Firefighters Lourosa, who

The president of the League of Portuguese Firefighters, Duarte Caldeira,
told Lusa that "this is a condition that arises from being in a direct
action of combat in which there is a sudden rotation of the wind."

This is the second fatal victim resulting from fighting the flames just
registered this week, and a firefighter died Monday from Alcobaça
corporation following the screening of a vehicle tank where followed
