Seeing as there are over 47,000 of you on here now and I got on somewhere around page four or so, I haven't had a chance to meet many of you yet.  I've got a little group I'm pretty happy with over at Cancel The Engine and I have a blog going at Firehouse Zen that I welcome you to check out.  That all being said, I'm leaving an open invitation to friend me here on my Firefighter Nation profile or over on Facebook.  Note that I've made it all easy for you with links and all.

My interest on here is to network.  I'm not trying to score points or anything like that.  I just happen to have the desire to share what I have learned in thirty years of leading high-functioning teams and the desire to learn what you see in your own world as well, whether you are a junior, a probie, or the crustiest jake on the street (or even a genuine coffee-cup toting chief officer like me).

So the door is open, I enjoy hearing from people, and although I'm not into dragging out conversations on the color of helmets and stuff like that, I'm wide open to discussions on change management, visionary action, and the future of emergency services as a whole.  Like the Kodak people were probably saying when digital photography went through the roof, "We need to be thinking ahead to the next step."  If you aren't thinking about what has the potential to be around the next corner, you won't even know it when it runs you over.

So I'm looking forward to meeting you, come on by and check out Firehouse Zen, and feel free to say something.  Don't be shy.  I haven't bitten anyone today that you know of.

Can I apply the points toward a set of lights for my POV?
Sorry, applicable only towards a monthly prostate exam or annual colonoscopy, your choice.
I not new here either and I definately don't know the other 46,900 FFN members but I will throw out my website as well.... www.fetcservices.com

BTW: Nice new rigs Mick
I'm surprised some of the rest of you "newcomers" didn't post a link to your site as well. Okay, take that as an invite and a bump to this discussion: hey, guys, throw your links on here. And here's one in general, to FireEMSBlogs.com
Oh, and see, this article was just on FFN and so many of you may have missed it: http://www.firefighternation.com/profiles/blogs/the-politics-of-pow...

I thought it was an excellent article and should be shared, because politics is (are?) a part of the job, like it or not.
What does helmet color mean in your department, show a photo of your tricked-out POV, and what is your favorite color of fire engine/extrication tool/apparatus brand/turnout color/fireground activity for explorers/juniors?
OK, OK here's my site - All Hazards Contemplations

My Firefighter Nations groups are Hay Bleves, Overhaul Thongs, and Tinctures of Drywall and NFPA 1403-Compliant Training Burns

I also blog on Fire-Rescue 1's The Kitchen Table.
Note the comments/commenters. They've all been around the block a few times. It seems to be the only crowd I can draw these days (which is a good thing, but they can be a little rough sometimes). If you get down this way, let us know.
Oh, and here's the direct link to Firefighter Netcast.
Hey from Virginia, lived here all my live and love it. Love beibg a firefighter. I haven't met a ton of people on here either, but I do enjoy the site. I will check out your group.
Glad to have you on board.
Well, it's a pleasure to meet you. I've been a volunteer firefighter/EMT-B near Bozeman, MT for 2.5 years while I was attending Montana State University. Now, I'm in the DC area with an internship in Firefighting Technology (part of NIST). I'll definitely look into your blog.
