What Made You Join a Fire Department?

OK. We all have people asking us, "what made you join a Fire Department". My answer is and will always be " i like dancing in the flames" ... so come on fellow brothers/sisters what is your reason???

Really? You have got to be kidding me, "I like dancing with the flames"? How about I followed in my fathers footsteps, or I like to help people, or the job is challenging, or that this is the best job in the world? I have been a "vollie" for more years than a career firefighter, but never have I had this kind of mentallity! Lol. Sorry all, don't mean to rant, but it's these kind of comments that make all "vollies" look ignorant. Again, wow.

Melvin, correct me if I'm wrong, but it doesn't look like you're taking the job seriously. Maybe I'm just too serious when it comes to silly stuff like risking life.
