We all know about the emotional weight carried by firefighter's wives (and husbands) that comes from having him go off to work or respond to a call not knowing if he'll return in one piece, or not at all.

If that one quality wasn't enough, we know that there are many unique qualities that make wives of firefighters so special- their ability to juggle the family when he's not home, last minute changes in scheduling, being there for him during the best of times and the worst of times, having his back when he needs it the most.

Share with us that which makes a firefighter's wife so special.  We'll be featuring this discussion on an upcoming Firefighter NetCast program.

I am with Chief, mine complains that I am never home, and sarcastically jokes that she is going to start a "Wives against Firefighters" page on Facebook...
My wife is so special. Why just the other day she said to me "Tommy wants a rowing machine. It'll cost around a thousand dollars. You might want to work an overtime or two." So special.
Do you have a date and time when this discussion will take place?
Hi Derek, thanks for asking. We have not yet scheduled a firm date but will do so when we are able to get a quality show up with input from several firefighters across the nation. Let me know if you would like to participate in what we know will be one of our best programs ever! -John
Hi Kali, "Goddess of Destruction".

I'd like to hear your story. Do you have one? Do you have a special someone else in your life, or are you alone? Did someone torque you off, perhaps piss in your Fruit Loops? Why the attitude?

I guess I would invite you to follow this thread and read how the spouses of firefighters are, indeed, very special, and are subject to very different circumstances than, say, the wife of a pipefitter, financial analyst, or dog walker.

I'm sure you already knew that though. If you disagree, tell us why!

I would also encourage you to call into the show and take part in the discussion. I'll be sure to let you know when and how to do so.
Damn:
I see you two have already met.
I was going to introduce you.
Can I tell why my dog Chopper is special instead?
Well, I'm sure you two will have a lot to catch up on.
Chopper says "hey".
No, if Kali wants to contribute, we'd love to hear it, no matter what he/she says he/she knows about our intent.

Scritch the lil pup from both of us.
Again, I'd love to have you on the show. Too threatened for that?

Naw, never slung mud. You fired the first shot. Questioned your motive hoping you had something to offer the conversation after you wandered in like a drunken cowboy guns-a-blazin'.

Turns out you have nothing other than dull axes and no grinders.

Don't work for Elsevier, never got a dime from Go Forward Media.

Conclusion? Kali Goddess of Destruction: Unencumbered by the Facts.

Must be aggravating to get called on your antics, oh wild-haired one.

The invite is always open, and you're quite welcome.

Thanks for the snicks.
In spite of what some unhappy person may say about this thread:
I'm very proud of my wife, who happens to be my best friend. I thank her every day for what she does for me and for the department. She supports what we do whole-heartedly and she does every bit she can to help out.

You aren't brave enough to share your point, Oh High Priestess. You just want to make noise.

Thanks for the hopes for my wife. It shows you truly have feelings and are mortal after all. Plus, she got to snicker at you too.

Time to reload again? Magnificent. I'll be here!
Thanks, Norm. There is beauty in your words and love in your heart!
