OSHA offers lots of help. You just have to figure out the what, where, and how to use their information.

As for training programs, you can go to the OSHA website and type in OSHA Outreach Training. What you are looking for is General Industry training, which is 1910 in the Stardard. They offer most of the training topics that you will need and it is all for free to download.

If not, just do the search like I mentioned above.

There are a lot of other resources out there. Another good one for writting OSHA Safety Plans is Safety Writer (again this is free). The link I use is www.usfoticenter.org Look for the Safety Writer link, register, and develop a Safety Plan.

Note - they don't have every industry code so the one I recommend is 9221 (for Police). Our actual industry codes are 9224 (SIC) and 922160 (NAICS). It only takes a few minutes to develop a plan (of about 100 pages). If you have any problem, I can email the plan.

Thanx Randy. I am reviewing it now. I like the safety writer, that is a great program! It is too bad they don't have a specific fire protection plan though.

I also wish they had the specific industry code, BUT it is still great that 90% of your plan is already written for you. Let me know if I can help in any way. Take care, Randy Keirn
