EDGERTON, Alta. - Several firefighters from a small community southeast of Edmonton were injured after a house exploded.

Fire crews from Edgerton were doing a controlled burn Monday night on an abandoned farmhouse.

The building exploded for some unknown reason, throwing one firefighter and injuring several others.

One firefighter was taken by air ambulance to University Hospital in Edmonton, while the others were taken to hospital in Wainwright.

Debris from the explosion hit one truck parked nearby, shattering its windshield.

It also sparked a grass fire.

I hope for a speedy and full recovery of our Canadian brothers. But, I also hope that this doesn't just turn out to be a case of them being safe-ish. We shall wait and see for the findings.
Very intriguing indeed. Read the attached URLS. Initial indications there was no flammable products present; some suggestion about methane from an abandoned well. Strange.
What a horrendous thing to have happen. Hope the severely injured FF has a full recovery! Hopefully, they will find the cause; Methane sounds like the most plausible of theories at this point.
I hope everything turns out ok... bet they didn't see this one coming. Who would on an excercise... Take care colleagues.
I hope and pray that all brothers are going to be doing ok. My thoughts and preys go out to their family and friends.
