ELDRED, Pa. - A former volunteer firefighter already jailed on charges he set his former fire hall and a bingo hall on fire, is now charged with burning down a hunting camp home while his 14-year-old son was with him.

Thirty-nine-year-old Scott McClain, of Eldred, faces a preliminary hearing May 17 on arson charges. His combined bail is $750,000.

McClain's son has not been charged and told state police his father tried to set the house on fire using a road flare. McClain returned to find that the flare caused a small porch fire that burned itself out, so police say he then poured gasoline on the porch and lit it with another road flare, causing $270,000 damage on July 23.

McClain later responded to that fire from the Eldred fire department, where he is no longer a member.
