im not tring to cause issues but i am tring to show how stupid people can be.
and this is my thought.i dont agree with jrs even being close to the firegrounds.the fire in question was in a nearby department to me in pa.you would think that with the pa state fire academy and the pa fire commish living in the area that things would be done differently.in my departmant the jrs stay with the rig and do what is needed close to there.we do not allow them anywhere near the fire, mva or whatever the situation maybe.
true there maybe some good jr and or explorer programs out there.
Where's his PPE? Is he properly certified and trained to be on a hoseline? Does this FD have any SOG's or SOP's regarding the proper wearing of PPE? Are juniors/explorers even allowed to be doing what he is doing?
Marc IT'S NOT ONE KID SPOILING IT FOR EVERYONE WHAT I MEAN IS THIS IS THE LATEST IN A LONG SERIES OF SHORT COMIMGS IN THE JR PROGRAMS . IT'S TO ME THE LAST STRAW AND TIME TO ERROR ON THE SIDE OF SAFETY AND PROTECT OUR CHILDREN......... SUPPOSE THERE'S A BLEVE IN THAT BUILDING ? THEN WHAT DO WE SAY.
I just showed this picture to my son who is an Under 18 member of my department. He is offering to give this young lad a free a$$ kicking. His follow up comment was that it is unbelievable that an officer would allow any FF in casual station wear to be this close to an actual fire.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6NpxlU_5qig&feature=related Here is one of our fiefighters, one of the dumb ones. Fighting a car fire with no turnout gear on guess he didnt realize he was being video. Never know whos watching.
a junior fire fighter should not be on the hose to start then if allowed he should at least have bunker gear on
definitely not a safe thing to do
What would Billy G say? Oh yeah, "Wear your f*cking PPE, all of it, every time!"
Stay safe!
Blake, besides the fact that he chose to not wear his gear on the car fire. Why does your department allow a "driver only" fire response? There are bigger issues there I bet.
