Thanks for the comments. I try to do the FFN stuff the same way I ran my fire station. There's a time to play and a time to work. Doing both well is the goal. And trust me, I'm really good at having fun and you obviously have seen my work ethic. Just wait until I finish my book... :D
Also, there's good news Justin! I also managed to get a shot of the inside of FETC's ride.
Personal Opinion: What's wrong with anyone having a scanner? Your departments proactive approach to keeping people informed and vigilant can only make the system work better, right?
i like to be informed no matter where i am especially my department. pagers only work so far i like having some distance. thank you for your "support"/ post

If it is transmitted on an open frequency and my grandmother can hear it in her living room, I see no reason why anybody should be restricted from listening. If anybody is having a privet conversation on a vhf or uhf frequency they better reevaluate what privet means. Scanners are a tool, just like any other tool the user needs to be instructed on how to use this properly. Just remember, responding to a call that is not paged out to you is freelancing. Few things will get you kicked out of the fire service quicker then freelancing.
