the porblem with removing the refectors (much as I hate them) is then the helmet is neither osha or NFPa approved so when you get hurt or killed and they investgate your incident your significant others have to fight tooth and nail for "payment" of benefits.. as if the reflectors may have saved you when the entire roof collapsed..lol the problem is itis beginning to get just that stupid.. out there :)
That is stupid!!! I could see if you get crushed by a car on the road but come on thats just BS! Thanks for the info Jim!!
OK John , LOOK up the Standards, both OSHA and the greater NFPA.. YOU dont think its written in because the Guy writing the Osha standards' Mom own's the tetrahedron market?
I am all about shaping my helmet to whatever your style may be, but remember there is something to having a helmet that was shaped after doing the real job, there is a guy in my dept that has a helmet that looks like he fought every fire in NYC last year, I break his chops about how all he needs is some b-b-q sauce and he would have cooked his helmet properly. Don't go baking your helmet for a shape, do it naturally
Not really sure what you would call the shape of my Sam Houston. It has taken a shape all on it's own over the years. The back points almost stright down.
I have a little bit of all the different bends on my helmet. I recently repainted it Yellow, thats why it looks new. Had the helmet a few years in my volly house, now I wear it at my career house. Its a earlier lighter weight N6A Sam Houston model made by Cairns. Cowboy bend into a Bronx style. What do you think?
