Yes this is a group for collectibles. But what do you collect? There are the usual stuff-scale model engines/trucks. T-shirts seem to be popular as do department patches. But what do you collect. For me its just about anything that catches my eye. I have lots of scale models(hot wheels and such). Some shirts and patches. Lots of books. I know that they are not considered in the catagory but the info in them is valuable to me. Then there are the odd items.
An M&M Village Firehouse
M&M Fire Truck Dispenser(new this year)
Pez Dispensers (Emergency Heroes Series)
Fire Station Cookbooks
These are just a few off the top of my head. Shout out some of yours.
Big Jim-
I found a book a few years ago called, "Hot Stuff, Firefighting Collectibles" by Andrew Gurka. (You could probably find it on eBay) Anyway, it's full of almost every firematic collectible out there, as well as what prices you could expect to find based on the condition of your item. Hope this helps, stay safe!
I collect just about anything fire related from old nozzles and old extinguishers to parade mugs past and present.
I have hundreds of mugs from eastern PA.
Me, I'm into European Fire Helmets and an ambition to own an examople of every helmet used by the London Fire Brigade (nearly there).
I've also got a fair size collection of scale fire engines, every one as faithful a copy of an original as I can poissibly make it.
I also collect a lot of stick from my wife.
