Okay, I found it. The last two roof ops posts have shown the way "not" to vent a roof. (see Roof Ops and More Roof Ops)

Now, I have found a picture of how to vent the roof. I have to admit, though, it was not an easy task.

As we can see in this picture, they are using a roof ladder, all appear to be in full PPE including SCBA and face pieces. They are actually operating off of the roof ladder. It looks pretty good, nice job.

great pic! Think I'll use it in one of my training sessions.

You are right, it is much easier to find pictures of things being done wrong than being done right.
This is an excellent pic of the correct way to vent a roof!! Kudos for the post.
Must be the result of good training ,combined with proper supervision. Good post thanks
Thanks, I will try to keep finding pics of good examples along with the ones that aren't so good. We can learn from both. Thanks for the reply.

very nice its not every day we see the proper way to do things on the fire ground. but in the volunteer world its hard to muster the man power to do things the proper way.
the only thing I would have liked to scene on there is another ladder for means of secondary egress
Good point.
Good picture....nice to see something right ....I can't resist it I have to say it.......LOL...I wonder if any of these Firefighters are 16 years old..? LOL See, I just can't stay out of trouble sometimes.. and I hope man # 2 has a long pike pole to take out the ceiling under the roof.
