There was mention of having a chimney sweep on rural apparatus for chimney fires. I mentioned yesterday morning that due to cheap electricity up here, we have very few chimney's and hadn't been to a chimney fire. (Last one was about 11-12 years ago, just before I joined.)

Well, yesterday at 2:30pm, we were paged out to a 2 alarm chimney fire. Fully involved when we arrived. Gutted the house. Small house, maybe 20x30, with an 8 foot wide porch across the 30 foot side. Still a tough loss though when the guy doesn't have insurance.

I guess I'm gonna have to stop saying "Hey, we've never had _______ happen here!"

NEVER, ever say "never" that's like saying the word "Quiet" when on the bone box.....surest way to ruin a good thing.....
Don't even talk to my Chief about being jinxed. Every time I say that we are going to have a run at whatever time, I'm usually right within 5 minutes before or after. I told a buddy of mine last night that we would have a run at 7:30 this morning and at 7:23 we got called out for chest pains. A couple of weeks ago I called 2 of them right on the money. One was a lift assist at 3:07 a.m. that I said would be at 3:00 and the next one was at 7:06 a.m. that I said would be at 7:00 a.m. Everyone said I needed to play the lottery. Chief calls me Jinxy now and yells at me everytime I say we will have a run at ____ time. I've gotten pretty famous for it.
Can you use your "powers" to predict that we won't have any runs at night, or when it's storming, or things like that??? 'Cause that would REALLY help!

Andrew
Sorry man. I've tried the lottery thing and that didn't work. I think my "powers" are limited to just our runs.
