Any conversation that you share with me will be held in confindence and will be cited in my work cited page. If you could please email me your thoughts and advice to my personal email joyfuljoyners@yahoo.com or if you would like my school email cjoyner8@ivytech.edu
Also if you would please let me know what is the first intial of your first name and your full last name is. What department that you work for and how long you have been a firefighter that would be great! Also if you want to included any other info about yourself would only make for a better paper. If you would like I can send you my prof. email address and phone number.

Although i didn't have any problem's with anyone i worked with, after consolidating with the county, a shoulder injury while still with the City became a problem. It triggered an underlying skull deformity causing swelling & herniation of the brain. They initially terminated employment during Union Negotiations. They later changed it to dismissed for non disciplinary measures. The Union did nothing but tell me to sue since the County had offered $12,500 that was countered with 2 year's off to recouperate, Insurance paid for 2 year's, & guaranteed job security. They answered after being terminated. The answer was no. The Union had negotiated a deal earlier in the year with a department in our local for a firefighter that had cancer. He was able to return to work.
there were problems in the beginning but once you prove yourself i think its fine now.
There was a major study on women in the fire service on every topic. Did you see this?

You need to talk to a woman named Ali Warren. She wrote a book called 'Where Hope Lives' on her experiences as a firefighter, starting at the age of 16. She had a rough time of it, but has done so much to overcome it all.
