It is my belief that Television was the beginning of the end of society today. Before TV families had to sit around and get to know each other. People had there priorities inline bills, family, chores....

What do you think the downfall of society today is?

I feel having 5 kids of the new "generation" that after pc's and reality tv gave the families and kids a feeling of do whatever and you owe us attitude splitting more families and leaving families to tend their own agendas as lack of interests in each others hobbies or social life drip away. We have a war going on in Afganhastan and only starting to pull out of iraq and the threat of iran looms on us and 99.9% of todays teens to late 20's could not tell you why.or where we are in it they don't care enough it seems add their liberal parents shouting politics and we teach them to not trust the same family element we trusted.."ask not what your country can do for you ,,ask what you can do for your country" JFK has gone the way side and yes partial is to blame on the politicians scaming us to get ahead
I couldnt agree more.

""The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for
authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place
of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their
households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They
contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties
at the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize their teachers."
Socrates, 469-399 BC

"I see no hope for the future of our people if they are dependent on
the frivolous youth of today, for certainly all youth are reckless
beyond words. When I was a boy, we were taught to be discrete and
respectful of elders, but the present youth are exceedingly wise and
impatient of restraint."
--- Hesiod, Eighth Century B.C.

"I believe what really happens in history is this: the old man is
always wrong; and the young people are always wrong about what is
wrong with him. The practical form it takes is this: that, while the
old man may stand by some stupid custom, the young man always attacks
it with some theory that turns out to be equally stupid."
G.K. Chesterton, 1922
