It is my belief that Television was the beginning of the end of society today. Before TV families had to sit around and get to know each other. People had there priorities inline bills, family, chores....
What do you think the downfall of society today is?
Now, don't get me wrong, because I love my LG ENV 3, but I'd have to say the Cell Phone. There is no longer any personal interaction because of texting, podcasting, voice mailing, IMing, blah blah, blah. Whatever happened to a home phone. If you couldn't get ahold of me because I wasn't home, oh well. I was probaly out living my life. Cell Phones make people look like idiots, (ie: Bluetooth earpieces), with them walking down the street in the middle of a conversation. It's a proven fact, look at traffic accident stats, people cannot drive and use a cell phone at the same time. Being in the restaurant industry as my full time job, I am extremely annoyed by customers who use a cell phone while in the restaurant and at their table. I have several instances where I get a finger pointed at me, while I come up to take an order, when the person is on the phone. I take my time coming back to the table. Cell phones do help save lives, in instances of reporting accidents, fires, and other emergencies, but didn't we get along just fine in life before they came around?
Play Station, Wii, Ninetendo, and any video game.... It has stopped kids from being kids.... and killed the bicycle, hometown football, baseball, soccer, and just playing in the back yard...
Well said, But wouldnt you like your children to grow up in a place where if they run off at a park you dont have to worry if there coming back or not?
Well now you know my opinion on politics, Jim. I agree, but there are more than just liberals that do that.
I know of a man that has nothing to do with the outside world if he can help it. He and his wife live on there ranch. They raise cattle and live plesantly with NO electricity, running water, or any emenities of any kind. He has lived there for over 20 years. When the oil bust came in the 80s he was a higher up in a very profitable company. It came down to cutting jobs of people who had helped get the whole thing started, HE quit. He moved away from society him and his wife live out there. When it comes time to pay the taxes his son takes care of it for them. They dont go to town but when there son comes and gets them.
What ever comes out on the market everyone else wants it. So they either pay high dollar for it or steal it or the more of it is made until there is so many then someone invents something better and the cycle starts again.
Cell phones and anything like them are out there. They are good but there are those people out there who will abuse their use.
Its the abuse of things that make problems with life. People driving with a cell phone stuck in their ear or texting and not knowing where they are driving.
The game machines have grown over the years until you have a closet full of them and then a new one comes out better.
I can remember having one TV in the house now there is a TV in every room of the house.
There were just a few TV channels and now there are so many you can't see them all or you can find what you missed on the internet.
Now the internet was for good but you can find abuse on there too.
There are people who will get your info and abuse it and cause you problems through the systems.
Censorship use to be part of the governmant but it was done away with because the few wanted it and those that lived with in their morals suffered because it was all out there and it can't be stopped.
