I'm into Rescue Me originally because of my husband. As the wife of Captain Greg Bailey of Couchton's Fire & Rescue, I feel that this show shows Tommy and others in a negative light. I've come to know some of you fine, brave, smart men and you all are no where near the stupid, booty whipped boy Tommy is portrayed to be; his Chief has become with this mail order bride; and Lou is with his ex-hooker bride. Come on! Tommy should be shown as a man who beats booze and dominates in the bedroom rather than be dominated. Tommy, Lou, and Chief are all booty-whipped and I'm tired of seeing strong men shown as lumps of dough in the hands of life sucking, concerned about no one but themselves, pyscho, money loving *itches. Let's hear it for FX showing how real men should be!! (This is Marty Bailey using my husband's page to speak out.)
Wow, mighty critical of a TV show. We all know it is not real life! The other thing to remember is Fireifghters are also not God's. There is a lot of truth in the show and there is a lot of Hollywood. I am first to tell you that not all firefighters can beat the booze, smoking, chewing, and various other problems. We are not all dominant in aspects of our life. We are not all like Tommy, or Lou, or Chief, but we are who we are. All across our great nation our Firefighter's, our "Hero's", deal with life and tragedy. Some of us cope better than others, and some slide into a pit if dispare. Careful about putting us on a pedestal, especially the ones you love dealy in your heart. Understand what we experience and understand that Rescue Me is just a show for entertainment purposes...
