yes our dept goes to strom spotter training every year and if a storm comes into our county that is of pretty good size we are called out to help law enforcement and our emergency manger watch.

We are all going through storm spotter training this year. Some of the guys will go out when we are paged, some will not

we did but due to over time cost the city has cut it out, & citys around us do the spotting.

hey paul what is this OT thing you are refering to?? We are vollies here and dont get a single dime for our work. WE use POV's that get the heck beat out of em and all we get is a satisfaction knowing our families are safe cause the work we do.

We use the station trucks to do our storm spotting. That way if there is anything that happens we have the trucks staged ready to respond. The training is free from NWS and you get out of the house.

We can only take the trucks out if it is a tornado watch and there is no hail....
