(AP) DETROIT

Police say Detroit firefighters were harassed while responding to a blaze at a suspected drug house by neighborhood residents who wanted them to let the fire burn.

Police told The Detroit News that firefighters reported being met with jeers and catcalls when they arrived Sunday.

D'Andre Adams, who lives on the block, says some area residents "just wanted it to burn to the ground."

The fire also damaged an adjacent home.

The fire department says the cause of the blaze, which destroyed the suspected drug house, was under investigation.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh beautiful Detroit!
I can understand the neighbors thoughts but the firefighters have a job to do to protect the structures around what is burning and to put out the fire. There are a lot of things in a house like that which could be a danger to the neighborhood. There are plenty of things out there that are a hazard when they burn and in a drug house who knows what they have in there that isn't good to have burn. You have to give them credit for doing their job even with it being a suspected drug house and not letting it burn to the ground.
Let it BURN
