Im partial to a walk in rescue. It can play many roles and doesnt give up square footage and weight for much needed rescue equipment,,,BUT,,,available water sources and manpower in ones due area would also be a big factor in my choice.
Beacon got a new rescue in 07 and i am a fan of the transverse compartments this way you can see everything for the most part on both sides of the rig. we used to have a walk in rescue but either or doesnt matter to me
I perfer engine rescues over walk-ins. I like to have my water and I think they are just more useful. Whatever you got is great, they all have their place in th fire department.
