I was just wondering how many departments have Fire Police, and are they paid or vol. departments ?? Do they hold any type of peace officer status, or are they civilians ???

We have one guy who we just put in this year as firepolice and no he dose not hold a peace status but he been a ff for a long time and he had to get cert for the post.
I just can't seam to leave you alone for a few hours
without getting into trouble.
Do I have to send the fire police over, to
keep you in line. LMAO
DT, this is for you
Now is this really fair? Just because I'm too busy (sleeping probably) to keep up with every thread for a day or so, I miss most of the fun! I had looked at friend Steven's first effort, and his own profile and thought hmmm, but I kept myself nice by keeping my mouth shut. But now it's been removed and it looks like a couple more from him have also gone? Has he picked up his bat and ball and left us?
PS, Members all belong to thier individual FDs as part of that dept's FIre Police squad and serve primarily as traffic control officers during all alarms. Once every few years our Village Clerk comes to a meeting and swears all of us in as Peace Officers just in case we get pressed into service for that. Our little communities dont have the Police manpower to devote the few people on duty to closing down streets and highways and to direct traffic. Works for us.
All Police Officers are "Peace Officers" but not all "Peace Officers" are Police Officers. And thier responsibilities and powers change in each class of "Peace Officer" and with each jurisdiction. We dont have any in the AK btw.
Hey Mike, Thank you for your comment. Be safe brother
I'm sorry Tony, I wish you could have been apart of this discussion, but Dammthing put
Steve out to pasture with the rest of the old horses. He couldn't handle the ride any longer
so now he is missing in action. We think he may have joined the ladies Aux. LOL
You shouldn't be sleeping so much, you never know what you will miss. LOL
Padre, are you telling me that all the members of your department
are swon in as Fire Police ??? Who, that's something I never heard of.
