What was your stangest/wierdest call?

Mine was about a year ago. An ederly woman called and reported that her house was on fire and needed the fire dept. When we arrived on scene we did not see any visible smoke, except what was coming from her neighbors chimney. I was very perplexed at this situation. my Lt. knocked on the door and asked the woman where the fire was at. She pointed towards the street at the sewer drain. There was some steam coming from the drain. She then walked over to the drain and pointed and said "there it is, it is down there." Without thinking i blurted out "that was some hot shit there ma'am." I don't think she thought it was as funny as we did. But in the end she thanked us for our timely response and concern for her well being.

Not all that strange but was one of the first calls that I ran as a teen, dispatched to a MVA {10-50PI back then} on the Blue Ridge Parkway in the mountains of rural S.W. Virginia where summer tourist sometimes failed to negotiate the curvy roads. Found a lone and very intoxictaed elderly male leaning against a fence post looking over the embankment at his car, he had no apparent injuries and the scene was secured. When the Park Ranger arrived on scene he approached the driver and asked "have a werck?" and the driver replied "no thanks, just had one", a humorous start to my firefighting career.

Mine would be this. Brush Fire Season starts in WNY. We are dispatched to a Forest Fire in Little Rock City. Enroute to the scene no smoke showing. On arrival one of our Firefighters (Eric that's you) arrived in his POV. I rode with the engine, didn't see any signs of fire. I ask him where the fire is and he points to a SMOLDERING CAMP FIRE, and says "right there!" The water can is all that was needed to put it out. I still get kicks out of that one.
