Just out of curiosity, and because CPAT forums pop up every now and then. For those of you who have taken the CPAT exam, what do you find are the most difficult parts of the exam?

I haven't taken it but am prepaing for it, but everyone I hear of says the stairstep part is difficult. Guess I will find out soon.
When I took it, I found that that was tiring...but if you do stairs on a regular basis you WILL be fine!
By far it's the steps if your not ready it will take the momentem out of you for awhile. Be ready and train for it.
I did well on the stairs, the only thing I didn't like was the rate. 1 step per second, it's not the normal pace that any of us walk up and down stairs.

Other than that, I rather impressed myself when I did it. The dummy drag sucked only because there were no good grabs on the dummy to use.
lol Dummy drags always SUCK!!!! For some reason it always seems easier to drag the real dummy...er uh victim..er uh patient...
Stair machine!!!
I hated that NO HANDRAIL thing too.....
I've done it multiple times, I would say the stair set gets most people. There are a few forums on "should it be easier," I don't think so. I think its pretty fair for men and women, even though most women struggle with it. I seen a few men struggle.. Are job is physically demanding enough, I think all departments should do the CPAT at least once a year, but its hard to get the equipment and have certified people to run it. I'm taking a class this month in Orlando for PEER fitness, Its with the IAFF and is a FF fitness cert class. It qualifies you to get a licence for CPAT for your department, also they help you set up workout routines and PT schedules for your department. The hard thing about it is the cost of the CPAT equipment and a place to store it. I'm trying to find a grant to help, if anyone reading this has any info, I would appreciate it. Sorry for getting off the main question, take care and stay safe.

It's good that you ask questions if you don't know. The only stupid question is the one you don't ask.
