just wondering if anyone can help me out. i'm thinking of getting a third tattoo and I wanted to get 'women of fire' instead of 'men of fire' in gaelic in a maltese cross. does anyone know the translation for women in gaelic?

Whether or not you realize it, you are simply re-enforcing the image you created of yourself in that one, ignorant post. The horse is out of the barn.

There was a time when women were not allowed to be a part of the fire service. There was a time when ethnic minorities were not allowed to serve. Do you have a list of derogatory names for them as well.

My advice to you would be to quit while you are, if not ahead, at least not any worse off. You were and are offensive and you make it worse by trying to explain it away.

As for bashing FASNY and others who, unlike yourself, can string words together in an intelligent or eloquent sentence....What are you trying to cover in yourself by doing this? So is it women against whom you are bigoted or is it really just women with a great intelligence that your own?

I implore you to stop. The blood is in the water and you are making it worse for yourself by continuing to post. People of your sort eventually resort to making some sort of threat and that I fear could be your undoing in more ways than just getting banned from this site which I myself personally intend to request of the site's ownership. You know full well that this type of thing is not allowed here and yet you did it anyway and then further insult us all by trying to back out of it. You have shown your true colors and draping yourself in your turn-outs now won't mitigate that at all.

just for the record... i'm not getting a tattoo to prove i'm a firefighter. I'm proud to be a firefighter and i am proud of my irish heritage. If I chose to combine those two things together into a tattoo is my own perrogitive so stop saying i am trying to prove something.
And I almost forgot that 3 years experience blows everyone with 10 years + out of the water. You are a joke

And furthermore since your such a tough guy, why not stop by these groups and individually tell these folks they are stupid for wasting their time with firefighter tattoo's. You seem to be quite interested in causing a stir, heres your perfect opportunity. Tattoo's are considered Freedom of Expression otherwise covered in a persons rights in America. Oh thats right, I'm not intelligent enough to know that.
For those who don't know Tom Cook from Chicago fire department (3 year seasoned veteran who is 5th generation) posted some degrading commentary about women in the fire service and furthermore posted content that people who put stickers on their helmet or have firefighter tattoo's were stupid and a risk. The comments below are directed to him. (who apparently deleted his comments and or his profile.)
Not bad in an hour he went from 3 years service to 5 years, and his profile really matches his stupidity level. Heres his new name.

Not bad for a volunteer (with a fire tattoo) huh tom?
LOL... good end to an otherwise unproductive day. I have found that if I give my opinion once and some don't agree (and believe it or not some people do not agree with me... I know I have a hard time with it too) that to continue to banter my opinion just wastes my time. My $.02...
Mike
Apparently you offended other people besides him. Look right below here. Fire Siren who I dont always get along with, I whole heartedly agree with her. If you came on here to LEARN then what is up with the name calling. I dont see any one else on here using profanity. I wonder why that is? Is this the way 5th generation firefighters talk? Then I dont want my kids around that kind of environment. I hope from now on you think before you write.
