I know that FireFighters dont do it for the money but i dont understand why do actors who Just ACT get millions of dollers a movie when Firefigheter dont get anythign for saving a life. Or even sports stars get millions to catch a ball. I am not going to be Firefighter for money i am doing it because i feel it is for me.
I understand the summer county thing. People come up our way to get to Lake George in the summer time. That's cool about the picture though. I like the trees and volunteers line at the bottom too.
OK, so my post is completely different from any of the others. The reason being that I am a career firefighter in Southern California. Things are different here than back east, midwest, the south, anywhere... What makes things different here? The cost of living for starters. So, the pay must be commensurate with the costs of living. Firefighters who work the overtime day in and day out, first off have no life but do make a lot of cash... Well over six figures, specially during wildland seasons like we have been experiencing these past few years. So your first assumption that firefighters don't do it for the money is nonsense. Just to take care of your family, instead of working a second job, many of us work the overtime instead covering stations or on initial attack emergency responses.
You threw in the actors and sports figures spin, which was cute but totally random dude.
I think it's great that you want to be a firefighter and that you are altruistic enough at this point to say that you are not going to do it for the money, but when you grow up, and have ADULT responsibilities, including a house payment and a family, your viewpoint may change somewhat.
Until that time presents itself to you, feel comfortable waking up in the morning, walking into the kitchen, turning on the cartoons and eating a bowl of cereal. Many of us have been up all night, fighting a fire, picking people off the floor or out of bushes and a myriad of other tasks related to working for a living, often times overtime to ensure that we can take care of the people we love, like your parents are doing now...
i wish i m ade millions at it but you know what i make more when some one comes up and says thank you for saving my husband son daughter or any of that it is worth more than money can ever buy
