Hello Brothers & Sisters

I own a vintage fire truck that was used by my grandfather when he was employed by the Chicago Fire Insurance Patrol. A few weeks ago, another member of the Patrol who used to drive this same truck, was reunited with it after 50 years. Check out this link to the story:

I've got a 52 pumper setting in my station here in Kentucky, it's only got 10000 miles on it, my father was Asst Chief when the truck was purchased and was named Chief in 1956. He retired in 1983 and still serves at the age of 81. This engine is a Mid-West and has a 500 GPM Hale pump. We still keep it around as a reminder of where we can from. It's still able to pass the pump test and everything else, but it's a BEAR to start and drive. I'll send you so photos when I get a chance... I didn't think any of these ole fine rigs were still around... Jeff Wright Chief West Point Fire Dept. West Point KY
Hi Jeff

Would love to see pics of the pumper. Very cool that the rig is still around!! My truck was in service from 1951-81 .... it has over 50,000 miles on it.
Stay safe

As soon as the weather brakes up here I'll get the ole truck out and do you a 360 inside and out. What brand is yours ? Like I stated our is a Mid- West made in Ind. We have the bill of sales in a frame on the wall. Dad said that it cost West Point 1 dollar for the cab and frame and 8500 for the truck after they mounted everything on it. $ 8500 in 1952 and $ 197 K in 2001, man how things have change. Something else, do you know any Fire and Iron MC members in Fla. we have 5 stations here in KY, I'm the President of Station 33 KY3. I'll get the photos quick as I can.... Jeff Wright
GREAT STORY...Congrats on your purchase of history...
Thanks Guys!!!

Jeff,
My truck is a 1951 Ford F 7 with a custom made body by Shurcraft truck body builders. Sorry but I don't know any Fire and Iron MC members in Fla. What exactly is the organization?
