What type of vehicle does your department utilize for brush responses? They vary around our area. Our District usses a Hummer wich was manufactured by "Fire Attacker".
Very good looking trucks! How do you like the Hummer? What year is it by the way. Our Hummer is a 1997, it needs more power on the hills however it does fine on the highway. Also the breaking is not the best either.

Well i believe its a 1999. W used is until this past summer where we got a Ford F-350 superduty
(first pic)
It handedled pretty well on the fire roads, and on the hills, but the braking is a little shaky.
Other wise i think it is a great truck and can benefit us in MANY different ways.
And everyone that see's it thinks it is realy kool.
Yes the truck does have the cool factor going for it. We don't see the types of wild fires you guys do. We have a lot of wooded areas with houses packed in between each tree it seems. Do you guys have dedicated dozer operators and truck drivers? The water tender is pretty bad looking too.
Awesome 5 ton Tim. Only problem we have is keeping the stack on we're looking at rerouting it somehow, we also found out the hard way that the oil pans aren't real tough either.
What is wrong with it? I know the roll pin that connects the PTO and winch always breaks thats what happen to ours and we thought it was something worst. also the the oil that goes in the winch resevoir just use the old oil from your jaws hydralic pump it works fine and that will save you a few dollars.

Yes, we have dedicated Dozer Ops and Truck Drivers.
Same with the water tender.
We use our dozers at Large fire aswell, such as the Universal Studio's fire.
Ya, we get bad Brush fires. LAco.FD also has dozers and brush teams
We also have FS88 brush team whihc is 15 guys (all Exps and FF) who go to all the fires and help with brush clearance.
