Should a fire fighter have anyone in the truck with them that is under 16?

at my station were not allowed to ride on the trucks for insurance reasons... until your a member at 18
That would depend on the situation..if your going to a call no why?..they have no clue what to do or expect and the risk factors...if it is a parade or event where unit will not be responding ..yes more control obviously..in the event person is a jr or explorer ..3rd due or slow response rig..just my feeling on it and you NEED SOP..on that one to C.Y.A.
On calls, only firefighters are allowed in our vehicles. That means (as I said on your other thread Candy) 16 years old, minimum. In my Brigade that means 16.5, because nobody gets in a truck, on a call, until they have attained their Wildfire competency.

Juniors don't suffer the frustration here because they aren't given pagers. Pagers are only issued when a person attains Wildfire qualification and becomes a Firefighter.
