All I can say is I hope web chief comes in and ends this forum. This is not even worth the discussion. All it is doing is angering all of us except the inconsiderate junior who posted this. END OF DISCUSSION... Go to my space or face book Keegan Allen. We (the honest non degrading firefighters ) don't want you here.
If a subject or point of view has offended you, I will put it plain and simple, get over it. Life in the firehouse is going to be filled with heartbreak, disappointment and misery if you do not look to better yourself.... its called introspection my friend.

What you hear and see as "running there mouth" is in reality someone elses opinion and ultimately freedom of speech. Not to mention, they probably have many more years of experience and education than you. What I read from your post is lack of respect for the senior members.
Kali,

I noticed right away that neither of us is a pushover.
Your avatar was a dead giveaway...really, really dead, if you look at the loose human head there.

Then again, what do I know - I only became a firefighter yesterday...or was it the day before?

Ben
Now that's funny right there.

Which hand holds the snifter of Tincture of Drywall?
This is quite the interesting side discussion. Continue, please : )
If you feel the need for a beverage designed for adult Firefighter-Americans after a hard day of decapitating your enemies...Tincture of Drywall is your huckleberry.
Kali,

You're not going to start another "What does your helmet color mean?" thread here, are you?

Ben
Though I dont consider myself a "senior firefighter" (24 yrs old with 3 yrs on the dept), I do however have a good bit more experience and education than any junior or explorer. That being said, I have sat through many hours of classes and training seminars, read countlees articles, textbooks, and incident reports. Through all of that I have learned a great deal, but I have learned a great deal more by spending time with, and listening to our "senior firefighters." I have nothing against juniors or explorers, it is a great program and though my department does not have any program of the sort yet, I enjoy helping new members learn and share as much knowledge with them as possible. However, when someone who obviously does not understand that if it would not be for the "senior firefighters" sacrifcing their time, and some of them their lives, the fire service would not be what it is today, shows blatant disrespect to them, that person needs to do less talking and more listening, they just may learn something and then they may not sound so ignorant. I dont mean to be so blunt, but if you do not respect the men and women who laid the groundwork for your career choice, how can you expect them to respect you?
No, she wants to discuss the bigger issues... like what kind of lights to buy for her car/truck...
Dunno. It wasn't a thong when I put it on.
Be as blunt as you want brother. That's a great response to Mr. Allen's ignorance.
But when you get 3rd-party buy-in, then you can officially claim "threadjack".
