is that a volunteer fire dept or is it a paid fire dept
well denver is a paid dept but i am looking to get into a volunteer dept till i can test out
Check out the Denver FD web site. They have a link to their Denver Firefighter Qualification & Examination Information.
i would start out as a volunteer then when when the time comes around get on the denver dept
Join a VFD, get into a fire academy, firefighter 1 and 2 program (whatever they do in denver), after that take EMT, begin a physical fitness program to prepare for the FD physical agility test. Also look around to other places that have career FD's this is a highly competative job market and you may not get hired with Denver first time out.

I can use my expereience as an example I have been a firefighter since 15 applied to multiple FD's only been hired by 2 of them. When I got hired by my current one 1,000 people took the test they only hired 70 and it took a year from test time to start date.
I had a freind of mine move out there and was on Arvada fire dept. I dont know where that is in relation to denver. But he told me that when you become a volunteer they send you to thier fire academy and then when a paid spot comes open they hire from the volunteers.
