It's basically a leatherman for the fire service. I've had one for just over 2 weeks and I've already used it a handful of times. One of my favorite features is that it comes in that pouch so it's easy to affix to a truck belt or harness. (my only concern is whether or not the pouch will melt in a fire.) It probably won't save your life, but it's great for those every day calls.
I don't work for Galls or anything like that, I just think people should know their options.

That does look pretty cool, I'll have to check in to that, I want to get something like that but I'm not sure if I want a big tool or something small like that. Thanks Adam
Well this thing can be mostly held in the palm of your hand. not nearly the size of a FUBAR. figure it's like a leatherman sized thing but add on the hammer head to it.
The tool looks to have uses. Though I can really see myself getting those little driver bits in the holder while wearing my gloves. Not! My own view is that these sorts of tools are getting a little too gimmicky - I carry a knife with w window punch, the rest of the stuff is in the truck toolbox. Oh, and a nylon pouch. Anyone ever see nylon and heat come together?
Well like I said Tony, it won't save your %^& in a fire, and I'm actually currently looking for a leather pouch to replace the nylon.
As far as the truck tool box and the gloves, I'll give you an example. Last week we had a call for an activated alarm in the basement of a frame shop. Getting down there with a pack, half mile light, TIC, and Irons was enough considering the close quarters, along with the narrow and unstable staircase. It's not necessarily a life saving tool, it is however, a tool of convenience.
I don't disagree Adam, I know of many people who carry tools like the Leatherman. Maybe when I get my new PPE, with more pockets, I might consider a Gerber/Leatherman. Maybe it's the little 'bits with this one' that don't appeal to me, just too fiddly. But we all have our own reasons.
Wouldn't the world be a boring place if we were all identical?
Our dept. has purchased this tool for everybody, the only problem with this tool is that the blades do not lock in place, and when using the screwdrivers, you can't get into tight spots.I have my own tools you can use with gloves on. Lowe's has a nice cheap pack set of 10 tools for a good price.
