We had a chief from a neighboring department do that to us on a house we were doing joint training in. He said he prepared everything and all we had to to was set up the water supply and attack lines.
we had some newer people in the first floor when he lit the fire and the house took off and the newer poeple scattered most went fo the door but one fire fighter paniced and went further in. I was an Captain at the time and my Lt's got the people by the door out and I went after the girl who ran into the other room.
By the time I caught her and was brining her out the fire was already rolling across the ceiling and as we got to the door the fire was at my back and I had hot tar land on the back of my neck when I was coming out the door I was glad I had my nomex on but my collar some how got pulled down.
Live fire in acquired structures have become a thing of the past for this exact reason. Safety!!! You are better off going to a training facility and taking an SBS.
