i wanna do a survey to see what everybody thinks. what is better, a a truck company or an engine company? now i know both have their perks and both do different jobs but i just wanna see what everybody else thinks.
Depends. I know a guy who loved working a truck. Unless there happened to be a 2nd EMS call in the district, they very rarely got up at night. He also had plenty of time to study the promotional exams.
Well id love to make my desicion but my dept doesnt run a truck that being stated our closest truck is 30 mins away so unless anyone wants to donate one im going with the engine (commisners thing)

I happen to be a big fan of the engine. It obviously depends on who you have coming and what the call is, but there are still ladders and tools on the engine. I mean absolutely no disrespect to any truckies, but I do believe in taking the water with you wherever you go. Again, no disrespect to truck work. The department I'm in, you have to know how to do both jobs anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter which I like better.
I'm gonna say "Rescue Company", that what my company is, you get the best of both worlds, you got water from the engine and ladders from he truck to use...what beats that?
