Your Biggest Tanker?

So my department has a 4500 gallon tri-axle monster of a tanker that we have given the nickname "the whale." I want to know if anyone has anything bigger. I dont know how to upload a photo from a differant computer but if you check out my page there is a pix of it somewhere. You will notice it (the big white truck) LOL

We have a 4000 gallon tanker that takes about 11 minutes to fill from the 6 inch storks fitting. We also have a 2000 gallon single axle that takes around 7 minutes to fill from 4 inch. And if absolutely necessary we can pull our 1500 gallon brush truck that has a dump on the back of the rig. and as far as dumping from our large truck we have a rear and both side dumps. In my several years on our dept. we have on most common runs never had to dump our large truck more than 3 times.

My Dept has 2 2006 Freightliners that carry 4000 gallons each, we also have two late 90's model internationals that carry 2000 gallons each, these come in handy for us due to our lack of a water supply.

I can't find the pic of it, but we had a 1954 GMC Aircraft refueler truck that DNR gave us. We converted it. It left the station shortly after I started. It had an old small block chevy in it with a bad cam. We donated it to WVCF FD in Carlisle. They stripped it down and put a new diesel in it. Anyway, it was a 5500 gallon tanker. We called it Big Bertha.

Man thats alot of water... All we got is a 2005 Mack Tanker that holds 3000. And thats the biggest tanker round here. I got pictures of it on my page if anyone wants to check it out

The pictures of your tanker remind me of the one that Bard has. There is nothing like a big grass fire. The biggest that i have been on so far was only 8,000 acres but we had it out in 4 hours. Being on the city department here we only have a 500 and 300 gallon brush truck. Its always a relief when one of the big guys shows up with all that water!
