Firefighters still in high school

Should firefigters, and i mean 18 yrs old and certified as a firefighter, who are still in high school be able to leave for structure fires? I support this if and only if its a small department with only a few people available during the day. What is your thoughts?

I believe it depends on the department. Even our mutual aid departments are VERY strapped for personel during the day. We really only have one dependable department we can call and know they will show up with a full crew during the day. I believe if the student is keeping up their grades and has approval from all parties (including teachers) it should be allowed for STRUCTURE FIRES ONLY (which only happens maybe 4 times a year in our district).
