Your Biggest Tanker?

So my department has a 4500 gallon tri-axle monster of a tanker that we have given the nickname "the whale." I want to know if anyone has anything bigger. I dont know how to upload a photo from a differant computer but if you check out my page there is a pix of it somewhere. You will notice it (the big white truck) LOL

We have 2, 4100 gallon tankers. They are on sterling chassis and they are more manuverable then the singal axel 2300 gallon tanker on an International cassis we had before.

we have 2 tankers one is a 1993 that holds 1800 gallons and our other one is a really old that holds 1800 gallons also and both have pumps on them the 93 has a wet side and the really old one has a front mount pump. The really old one we are in the process of replacing we just ordered it and are going with a 2009 peter built commercial 2 man cab with pump and a 2500 gallon tank.

Wow that is a whale! We don't have one near that size at all, must not run out of water to fast. That must be a huge truck, would love to see a pic of it.

just saw the pics of the other peoples tankers and they are tanks. Holly crap! How do you drive those, is it similar to a normal size fire truck?

Its fairly similar to drivin the engine aside from the split differntial it has. That makes it a pain to drive.

we have a 1991 Spartan/4Guys 3000 gal tanker, honestly driving it is like driving a big Cadillac

We just got our new tanker 2 months ago and it hasent seen its first fire yet. It is 3000 Gallons Kenworth, 2007 i believe it might be a 2008, but everyone says it drives good and wolverine fire apparaatus made it Sorry thats one of a truck when it was being built only one i have

Our Tanker (I STILL dont know the diffrence..we call it tanker)

is a International BIG RIG body with a 2,000 gallon tank over where the box would attache.

As a rural dept on the edge of Lincoln, NE we have to bring our own water and can't rely on hydrants. This year we purchased a 2009 Peterbilt 3000 gallon tanker with drop tanks. We also purchased a 2009 Mack Tractor to pull our freshly refurbished 5000 gallon trailer. We outfitted the trailer with a new Darley pump and Cummins motor so we are able to flow 750gpm. We also took delivery of a 2008 Mack 1500gallon tanker with a 500gpm pump. We have 2 other military excess property 5 ton 1000 gallon tankers that also work as grass rigs for us. In Lancaster County Nebraska we have more water at the ready than any other dept now. I have included a few photos of the equipment.
