Picture this it's 3am and your driving home and next thing you know your vehicle is upside down, the smell of gas is filling the air as fuel is leaking out from the gas tank. You are unaware of what injuries you may have from the adrenaline flowing through your body. Or even if your in a burning building and you become lost and confused. Ask yourself this do you really give a rats ass that the man or woman that pulls you out of that vehicle or burning building has a tattoo. Think about that one...
IT SHOUDNT MATER WHAT KIND OF INK YOU HAVE OR WERE IT IS ON YOUR BODY. JUST LOOK AT THEM WHEN THEY SAY SOMETHING AMD SAY YOU DIDNT SAY ANYTHING WHEN I WAS SAVING YOUR ASS OR CUTTING YOU OUT OF THE CAR . BESIDES ITS NONE OF THERE BUSINESS!
Wow, deep rooted anger isn't healthy. I seriously doubt you would tell someone to "save themselves". If you are even thinking about, seek help for that. I never implied that tattoos are good or bad just a choice people make, whether they are mature enough or not, then warned them about seeking employment where there is a tattoo policy. It's all about being reasonable. Read all my posts on this forum please, especially the part about tattoos having nothing to do about someones skills. I don't think anyone should cram their beliefs down someone's throat and have an attitude to boot. It's not professional sounding. TCSS
I don't have deep rooted anger and I don't need help, I have no tollerance for ignorance or for someone who judges a book by its cover. Would I tell someone that I wouldn't help them if they outright insulted me? Absolutely not, I was meerly attempting to get a point across. I am insulted verbally on the phone all the time, I would never - EVER deny someone a service based on their outlandish insults. All I'm saying is that people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

All this talk about first impressions? That's judging a book by it's cover. I need to put a suit on for you to think well of me? Don't get confused, you're not the only person I was talking about. Most of what I was talking about was aimed at the general population. The little tidbit about Texas comes from you and your fellow Texan attacking me about my so called "attitude." Maybe it was the way you read it, and don't forget I am entitled to my opinion. Just as you are, hence why I didn't mutter a word to you until you attracted my attention with your insult. I'm not going to bicker with you anymore, this is so incredibly pointless. If you think I need an "attitude check" or have something to say to me, that's what private messages are for. Personally attacking people is not what this forum is for.

Note: It's WICKED easy to delete posts. Let's all remember that.
tattoos should be allowed to a cetain extent they should be for the most part covered but if u cant then someone should see u as trying to help people instead of thinking your a freak b/c of ur tattoos. i love firefighting but i also have always like tatoos so i shouldnt be thought of as a jerk
Thank you for all of your replys and I'm sorry for all of the hassle. I just wanted to get some openions on the topic not start fights. Thanks you again

They should also get dressed in the basement! For the record Debbie, I understood what you meant. Stay safe!
Years ago we had a guy with a tattoo of a black widow spider on his throat! Nicest guy in the world, but if you didn't know him you might be kinda scared.
Right on Randy! It's not like your tattoos have anything to do with your ability to be a chief officer. It's your training and years of experience that do. Stay safe!
I think it's fine as long as they are not offensive, but who is to say one thing is not offensive to one person, but is to another. I think in LA they made a new rule that all tattoos must be covered at all times. But I don't see it as a problem. I don't think someone is going to refuse being rescued because the firefighter has a tattoo.
