Read a article about a guy who called 911 and was going to commit suicide . He had swallowed some nitroglycerin pills and was slamming himself against the walls trying to cause an explosion . Has any one else got any weird stories like that ?

lol i ran into electric fence when i was in the 6th grade that sucks
Lesson 2 on electricity, for me, was touching an electric fence with a long cattail reed... I discovered that wet things conduct electricity just fine.

Lesson one went something like this:

After these experiences I ended up in electronics anyways... go figure.
I can vouch for the miraculous properties of tinfoil.....We had a frequent caller who stated that the aliens were beaming negative energy into her apartment.... After the millionth call, we suggested the "tinfoil hat" variation.... Next time we went back, all of the ceilings were covered with foil.... Had a guy cut off his own hand once because he literally interpreted "If thy right hand offends thee, cut it off and cast it away".....well, you get the picture...
I hate to laugh at your post Damon but thats funny. Thankfully I don't recall many "stupidity" calls, especially of the caliper of some I have read in the responses. I can definately see the possability though.
Our dispatch center kept getting repeat calls from an older gal who was DEEPLY off her meds about her house being haunted. One night I was on the phone with dispatch when the gal called in for the 13th night in a row. I told the dispatcher, to put me enroute to the call and I'd fix it once and for all. Myself and my Chief arrived at the house and went in to speak with the lady. She was adamant that her house was haunted. I told the chief to keep her busy for a minute. I ran out and got our CO detector. I stuck it under the exhaust of the truck and got a nice high reading. I ran into the house and told her that I was going to walk through the house with our TIC and if I found a ghost, I'd get rid of it. I told her that the only way we'd know if it was gone was if the meter read zero. After about 2 minutes in the house, it read zero.

Never heard from her again!
I knew that tinfoil would work!
NICE! I'm not sure if I should feel left out or extremely lucky that we don't get calls like that around here.
