cost of responding for volenteer fire and ems personal

are the raising gas prices causing issues to respondig? Are you selectivly only responding to good calls to save on gas? are you still responding in your pov or now riding in the trucks?

Our area is quite small (suburban) so we don't have long trips to the Station and don't respond direct. But fuel here is about US$5.00 per US gallon as well.

I have no time for those who select what calls they go to. You never know how bad a call is until you're there.

Even though my gas bill is outrageous I am still responding as normal. If I start being "selective" I feel that I would be causing a dis-service to my district patorns and to my fellow ff's and emt's.

We respond to the station and I only live four blocks from away so gas prices dont bother me too much. We do have members that live in other nearby towns that rarely show up anymore because of the prices.
