Fire Dept Needs Money To Pay Firefighers

Hello,

My fire dept is wanting to pay two firefighters for daytime runs. I was wondering if another dept has done the same thing and how they get there money. And is there any grants you can get to pay these firefighters salaries in full?

are you talking 2 fulltime fireman during the days? and yes there are a lot of grants out there that'll help you in this just do a google search.

SAFER Grant is specifically for manning, recruitment, and retention. Understand that this is a matching fund grant and that your portion of the funding increases every year.

I've seen it done via a fire tax.

Also a dept I know of sends out what they call donation request after each call they have. They have a billing agency also which most of our insurances have coverage for this .When ever a fire call they send what looks like a bill to their insurance agency and they pay what ever they feel they want to... Being that they are volunteer they are asking for a donation request.. Most insurance companies send 400-500 each call... Alot of ambulance co does this now..
