We may add a widget for real time chat, but its not an option at this time.

Right now the system doesn't have an 'online now' status but that is one of the features being planned for the near future.

Online status is now live!

You can browse your friend's list, the member's list or when you are viewing profiles, an 'Online Now' indicator will show up if the member is online now!

I haven't been able to find a way to browse for people near me in the members section... am I missing something? If not, would you consider making it possible?

Go to the 'Members' tab

Then in the search box there above the members, just type a keyword like your city name or those around you, and you can find folks easily.
