I will start this training topic. Since I am in charge of driving in my department, and with the winter months ahead of us. I would like to know how many of your departments use automatic snow chains on apparatus. These types may include On Spots, Rudd Chains, or does your department still have regular chains for vehicles. Since retiring from my career job, the company I work for sells equipment such as the automatic snow chains. If your department uses these, how many have had training on how they work. Let me know, i can send out training DVD from On Spots to anyone wanting to train on them or look to see if your department might be interested in them.
Hello I am Robert (Robby) Owens 25 years old from Mechanicsville VA. I was a volunteer for 9 years @ Mechanicsville VFD. Got hired a sa career FF/EMT with Stafford County Virginia @ age 20. Left Stafford in 2004 to go to work for the Henrico County Division of Fire were I am currently assigned to Truck Company 6 on B-shift. I also work as a part time FF/EMT for New Kent County Fire Rescue.
I am always interested in meeting people involved in the fire service and hearing different ideas.
