Always look what is going on around you and decide what is the root cause.
Always listen to what is said and make sure you understand what is being told.
Always train, train and train some more. Then apply what you have learned and see what works.
Always do your job to the best of your ability. Do not be lazy!
Always respect others and demand their respect.

I think one of the most important qualities for a firefighter is to be truly adaptive in not only dealing with emergency incidents but also with our communities and the demands our own departments place on us, on a daily basis. Also, I believe that a fireman or fire-woman needs to be able to separate Fire department life from HOME LIFE.
To me thats simple, dependability and honesty....To others and to himself......honsty to self in that asking himself the question....can I handle this or not.....?? Stay safe all.....................Paul
