girls being explorers?
ok so im the only girl in my post and an on top of that im the chief of the post. i get the feeling some of the guys don't like this but im not sure. especially since i beat them at some of our drills. do any of you guys have girls in your posts and what do you think about this matter? please let me.

sorry. but i aint' got nothing to hide. i feel strongly on this subject. its the guys who don't feel like girls can do this stuff. well get use to it. cause there will be times when a girl is going to do a lot better than you guys. we're all better at something in the fire service.

Hi,
I too am Chief Adviasor of our Explorer Post and have had several girls in the post. As you most of the girls can out do the guys. I have found they are more dedicated to training and being the best. The guys are dedicated to goofing off. As with you the guys dont like the girls in the post, but only because they out do them in most every drill we run. Hold your head high and keep up the good work. The guys will follow your leadership and join you or drop out because they were there for the wrong reasons anyway.

thanks. atleast there are some guys/ men who don't have a problem with us girls. it means a lot to hear ya'll telling us good luck and to keep up the work. in 1 yr. i'll be able to join on with my dept. i think the post want be that great then.lol. i may have come back from time to time. but thanks for the reply.

we have 6 girls in our cadet program and our chief for the time being is chief untill she goes to acadamy in january i never have had any problems with any of the girls in our program and i dont think any of our guys have evr had any problems either

okkk i dont have a problem with girls explorers as long as the participatate i have 2 gurls in my post and niether will do r drills or respond to calls they jus take up locker space its really annoying

Hey DON"T SWEAT IT! When I was an Explorer my Post had 3 girls.Granted our Post Coordinator had a few issues with them,7 out of the 10 of us Guys DID NOT.Thanks to our Coordinator,when we made a recrutment Video for our host company,they where our EMS Crew though they wanted to be on a line with the rest of us.They we're not Chief,or Lt.,but one was our Treasurer and one was our Vice President/Photographer.They have all moved on in thier respective careers and look back on thier time in Explorers as a Great Time.Dont worry about anything,as a firefighter for 8 years the women in our current fire company are just as respected as the the guys.WE' even had a Female Asst.Chief and Lt. IN THE 70's!Beleave me you are accepted even though it may not seem like it yet.Just Keep Kickin' Thier A**es!

well i have been the only girl in my post for the past year and a half. but just recently we got 2 more girls. im the assistant chief of my post and trust me, the guys have a hard time believing that one lol.

Girls can hold their own in the fire service. We have 4 women two Jr. fire fighters. Im a Lt. and I don't care to go in with a girl on a house fire. Don't let them tell you any different.
